Hitting the Mute Button

People are connected to everything these days. Even in the privacy of our own homes there are text messages, instant messages, skype, facetime, social media notifications, and an endless amount of email to sort through. There are people who view all of these things as a lifeline. The true lifeline is your connection to God. Jesus tells us in the Word that He is the way the truth and the life. {John 14:6} Jesus also spoke of living water that would not run dry. {John 4:14}

As God’s people we have to wholly appreciate what our true lifeline is. God never forces Himself on us. We have to allow Him in our lives. It is up to us to make spending time with God each and every day the main concern. Push the “mute button” on all of the peripheral things in your life and take some time to listen to what God is trying to speak to you in that small still voice.
