Clean Socks

We take clean socks for granted. But when you wear the same socks for a week at a time, clean socks are a luxury. Something as small and as simple as clean socks can bring a broad smile to a weary face. This is one of the ways that doors are opened to ministry. This is how people can see that we really care about them.

People don’t just want to hear that you care about them; they want to see it and feel it. It is the difference between the world around us that makes promise after promise but rarely delivers and the people of God who live and speak what they believe. Follow through makes a bigger statement than your mouth ever can.

If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit?

James 2:15-16 (NKJV)
