The first day of July means that we are halfway through twenty-thirteen. This is a good time to take a quick look back and remember how the year started. Did you make goals to accomplish in the year? More importantly, did God speak something to your heart for this year?
In twenty-eleven, the Lord gave us this scripture: Isaiah 43:19 ESV Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.
It was a powerful and timely word then, but I find that it still resonates. If we as people will be less concerned with being right and more concerned with what is right, we will be more able to hear the Words of God in our spirit. It is all about taking the step that God is directing you to take. Trust Him.
This little wildflower is a reminder to me of what God can do in barren places. The past two or three years have been so dry that I don’t remember seeing wildflowers on the sides of the road. There was only dried grass where they used to bloom. But this year has brought rain and painted the fields with a beautiful array of wildflowers. If your circumstances are barren right now then you need to know that obedience to God can fill up those barren places with the lush beauty of wildflowers.
