When you think of someone being homeless you might think of a panhandler on the side of the road with a sign that says, “Will work for food.” You might see images of dirty and unkempt people wandering around purposelessly.
But what does God see??? God sees people who are in His kingdom or not. I would present to you that anyone who is not in God’s kingdom is homeless. Now look around you and tell me who is homeless? It changes things, doesn’t it?
Throughout the Bible we see directives to help the widows, the orphans, and the poor. God reminds us of this constantly. It was never God’s intention for some people to be better than others just because they have more money or a husband or parents. God loves us all. He has a purpose for us all. He desires a relationship with us all.
Proverbs 22:2 (NKJV) The rich and poor have this in common, the Lord is maker of them all.
God does not make trash. Nor does He ask us to do anything that is not important. What is He asking you to do? When you decide to follow God in the direction He is leading you and just do the things that He has set before you that is when you will start to grow and that is when healing will happen in your life. God doesn’t care about the helpless more than you or you more than them. His intention is for each person’s good and He has a way to make that happen if we will just cooperate with Him.
